They're creepy and they're kooky, Mysterious and spooky, They're altogether ooky... The Addams Family were created by cartoonist Charles Addams in 1938. Intended as a humorous inversion of an ideal 20th century family, they are a clan of wealthy, aristocratic eccentrics who delight in the macabre and are either blissfully unaware or do not care that mainstream society finds them unusual or frightening. The main cast consists of patriarch Gomez, his wife Morticia, their children Wednesday and Pugsley, Uncle Fester and Grandmama, their butler Lurch, the disembodied hand Thing, and Gomez's hirsute Cousin Itt.
